One of the two commercial ways to get to the Isle of Wight is via Wightlink ferries. Wightlink offer three commercial routes via Portsmouth or Lymington.
The main car ferry route is via Portsmouth to Fishbourne, from there you can get to all of the Island and Our Caravan is only 20 minute drive from Fishbourne.
If that route is busy or you are coming from the west of the country, you may wish to travel via Lymington at the southern edge of the New Forest, the drive to Shanklin from lymington will take approximatly 40 minutes.
Should you wish to travel by foot you can get the fast ferry or Hovercraft from portsmouth to Ryde, from Ryde, there is a direct train to Shanklin, and Shanklin Railway station is only a 5 minute walk from lower Hyde Caravan park
