Our Holiday home is a lovely 3 bed caravan based at Lower Hyde in Shanklin, with the added benefit of a great 28ft x 8ft Deck area which gives you some great outside space to relax on. A fantastic base to have your holiday. The Holiday Park boasts a fantastic show bar with top class entertainment, a great restaurant, Sports pitches, an outdoor swimming pool, indoor splash pool, a launderette and on site shop. The site also has bike hire from the entrance from where you can explore the red squirrel route.
There is not many places in the world a perfect as the Isle of Wight, if it is your first visit, you are in for a treat, fantastic beaches, the most wonderful views, and so much to do. The Island has its own micro climate and is worth a visit any time of the year, obviously if you want the summer sun, then the holiday season is when to go, but we love it all year round.
If you have been before then you will know exactly what I mean, a holiday on the island is like going abroad without going abroad, from the minute you step on the ferry, the stress of life just fades away. In our holiday home you will find - lounge/diner, kitchen, shower room and toilet, separate toilet and three bedrooms with double glazed windows and central heating throughout the caravan and a lovely deck area with table and chairs for outside dining.
The kitchen is well equipped with most things you might need to prepare drinks, snacks, picnics and full family meals. There’s a fridge with small freezer compartment, ample cupboard space, pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, microwave oven, full sized gas cooker, kettle, toaster, iron (under sink), high chair, airing frame for hanging on the outside of a window and ironing board (under double bed). There’s a travel cot under a bed, pretend ice cubes, cool packs, bottle coolers and a cool bag you can use in the kitchen cupboard.
There’s a gas fire in the lounge you can use if you get really cold. There’s a freeview tv in the lounge with a built-in dvd player and lots of dvds (for adults and kids), kids books and a few games.
We leave tea, coffee and sugar and some spare provisions at the caravan- you are welcome to use them, but it would be appreciated if you could replace things you use up. ENJOY!
Amenities on the Site
With a guest pass, available from reception, Guests are able to use the facilities at Lower Hyde and the sister site a few minutes walk away at Languard.
The sites boast a large club house with bar, amusement arcade, restaurant, local convenience store on site and a launderette.
There is on-site bike hire too.
There are great outdoor swimming pools at both sites, a paddling pool and heated indoor splash pool at Lower Hyde, and a fabulas indoor pool at langaurd a few minutes walk away. The outdoor pool is open between 24/05/19 – 02/09/19.
Lower Hyde has a great outdoor playground and a multi-sports court.
There are kids clubs available too and Wi-fi is available throughout the site.
The Red Squirrel Trail is accessible from the top of the site, there are signs up past reception. The trail runs for 32 miles through the island. The route begins in East Cowes and goes around the island and back to East Cowes. You can walk along to Wroxhall and beyond on the old railway track route. The paths are concrete.
